Embark on an evening of high drama, moving from despair to elation. The concert opens with Brahms’ dark, uncompromising commentary on the inherent tragedy of human life. His themes surge and spin in a tempest of emotion. Up-and-coming soprano Clara Lisle follows, offering an enchanting mix of opera favorites, some sweetly charming and others imbued with intense longing. Rimsky-Korsakov’s exuberant and virtuosic Capriccio Espagnol concludes the evening’s performance.
